Native Audio and Video Support in Safari 3.1

Apple just released a new version of Safari, with (among other things) native support for audio and video.

For users and web developers, this is great – no more futzing with installing/updating plugins and writing complicated “embed” tags. Audio and video “just work” as native media objects, with a simple syntax similar to “img” tags:

Pretty cool stuff. Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to work in any other major browser, not even Safari for Windows. 🙂
(Heck, I didn’t even know Apple was making Safari for Windows until today!)
